THE TEMPLE OF TIME

12 minutes into the trail, visitors will find the ‘Temple of Time’ (Templo del Tiempo), a fossil cavern richly decorated with a variety of stalactites and stalagmites which have taken more than a million years to take their current form. The marvelous constructive effect of minerals precipitating in water droplets for millions of years makes this a unique place to appreciate geological scales of time. The play of light and shadow upon these geological formations lends itself to an infinite game of shapes and imaginary forms that crop out of every corner, and every crevice, changing in each and every step.
